A bulk SMS message is activated using a single online prompt by the school emergency manager from any PC or mobile PC device. Each individual parent receives an SMS text message on their mobile phone. In a hypothetical example 850 out of a parent population of 900 respond with a SMS text message indicating that they can meet at the pre-assigned meeting location within 15 minutes. This is displayed in collated form on the emergency manager's PC, 50 parents respond with different action responses indicating that they cannot collect their children on this occasion within this time frame for some reason. The manager has the option to review and send this information immediately on its receipt and develop an action plan based on the information received to deal with the remining children that need to be evacuated.

A team coordinator in the field is alerted of an emergency and quickly picks up a laptop computer or in the office goes to any computer online and log into the EAARS website.


In a matter of seconds from here the manager can send out personalised text messages to the teams and or individuals required.


On receipt of the messages by the team members they are able to reply if they are available to attend to the emergency.


These confirmations are received by the emergency manager as a collated list which is able to be sent via email to any other interested parties as for example the emergency managers up line or coordinator.
